Supportive Services

At St. Robert Catholic School, we feel privileged to offer a range of supportive programs through external agreements with our community partners.

We work in consultation with Mercy Education Resource Center to provide Title I services under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act. These services include, but are not limited to, supportive help with reading, language arts, mathematics, and science. These services are provided by a state-credentialed resource teacher from Mercy Education Resource Center who works at our campus once a week for about three hours. The resource teacher also supervises graduate interns who are completing their field practicum at St. Robert School. Though Mercy Education Resource, we also have an on-site counselor who works at our campus once a week for about three hours.

We work with Sacramento City Unified School District to serve students with special education needs under the federal Individual with Disabilities Education Act. However, the benefits under this federal law for parentally-placed private school children with disabilities may differ from the benefits available for those attending public schools. The range of services might vary from case to case, depending on the individual “service plan” for children attending private schools. We suggest that prospective parents interested in having their child with disabilities attend St. Robert School speak with their local school district to find out the specific services that could be provided. For parents of students currently enrolled at our school, we suggest that you meet with: (1) your child’s classroom teacher to discuss your concerns, and (2) the special education director at your local public school district to learn about what services it might be offering to private-school students.

Though a community-volunteer program at Dignity Health Hospital, St. Robert School has a registered nurse who works on campus once a week for about four hours. The nurse provides a range of services, such as immunizations, vision screenings, and wellness checks.
